NEW ALBUM OF "LOST RECORDINGS"
PETULA CLARK IN COPENHAGEN 1958-1960

Following the critically acclaimed release of Stage Door's Petula Clark 'On Air 1951-1961' album, is a brand new collection of previously unreleased Petula Clark recordings; 'In Copenhagen 1958-1961'.

Dating from 1958 to 1960, the recordings featured on this album represent a historic and landmark archival discovery. From the archives of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, the featured broadcast recordings shine a light on a remarkable part of Petula Clark's career that to date has remained relatively unknown and unreported outside of Scandinavia.

This specially compiled album features 23 recordings all of which are previously unissued on CD and unheard since their original broadcasts. Digitally remastered from the original master tapes, the featured studio recordings represent selections from four Petula Clark television specials recorded and broadcast exclusively in Denmark over a two-year period. With musical accompaniment by Bent Fabric and His Quartet, the selections spotlight Petula as a jazz song stylist and torch singer, the majority of the featured numbers were never recorded commercially or performed outside of these broadcasts. Highlights include 'The Folks Who Live on the Hill', 'Over the Rainbow', 'I'll Be Seeing You' and 'Among My Souvenirs'.

Petula Clark 'In Copenhagen 1958 - 1960' is strictly limited to 500 units only.

Pre-order today to avoid disappointment. Given the limited pressing these won't be around for long. Orders placed via the Stage Door Records website will be shipped ahead of the release date.

NEW CHRISTMAS ALBUM FEATURES 2 "LOST" PETULA RECORDINGS

Petula Clark Christmas in London is a joyous collection of yuletide nostalgia. Featuring all Petula's festive recordings from the 1950s; this stunning album includes a selection of traditional carols alongside a sprinkling of wonderful original Christmas songs, all embracing the warm nostalgia of sentimental Christmases past.

Making this Christmas album extra special is the inclusion of two previously unreleased radio performances, unheard since their original broadcast.

Accompanied by Joe Henderson at piano, the album opens with a delightful 1950 recording of the yuletide favourite Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and concludes with a stunning 1954 interpretation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein standard Some Enchanted Evening, a staple in Petula's early 1950s concert repertoire that went unrecorded (and a perfect companion to Petula's 1961 recording of the perennial R&H classic 'My Favourite Things').

Give the gift of Petula Clark 'Christmas in London', this season's perfect stocking filler!

NEW ALBUM TO FEATURE "LOST" PETULA RECORDINGS

On Air is a landmark collection representing a unique archival discovery of recordings made by Petula Clark for various BBC Radio programmes between 1951 and 1961. Prominently featured are selections from the long running 'Calling All Forces' programme where Petula appeared and broadcast on a weekly basis as the resident featured artist. Almost all of the performances featured on this collection have gone unheard since their original transmission and this release ensures these historical broadcasts are no longer lost to history.

'On Air' features 23 tracks, 18 of which make their debut on CD. Highlights include stunning performances from the 'Calling All Forces' programme including Rodgers and Hart's 'With A Song In My Heart' and Piaf's 'While The Angelus Was Ringing' ('Les Trois Cloches'), accompanied by Geraldo and His Orchestra with the George Mitchell Singers. Other standout selections include up-tempo covers of the Dean Martin and Line Renaud duet 'Relax-Ay-Voo' and the Doris Day hit 'Ooh Bang Jiggily Jang'. 1. With A Little Help From My Friends

PETULA, A HOST OF POP STARS & NHS STAFF SING WITH THE NHS VOICES

NHS Voices brings together superstar singers, including Petula and healthcare heroes to create a special single that will continue to celebrate NHS staff long after the 70th anniversary of the NHS.

Put together by a team of NHS employees, this heartwarming anthem gives everyone a chance to say thank you to dedicated healthcare staff.

With A Little Help From My Friends was launched live on ITV1 and Heart Radio through a nationwide singalong. Petula's vocal can be heard on the track from 01:12. Watch the video.

The song, released on 06 July 2018 is available as a download via iTunes with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together.

In the Guardian newspaper, Petula admitted her knowledge of the NHS is limited. But like everybody here (at the recording session of With A Little Help From My Friends) she has a story to tell. "My son had his first car. He went out for a drive with his girlfriend, and I was worried sick. I was biting my nails, and of course the phone call came about 2am. 'I've had a little accident.' So off I go to the hospital and they do every test possible to make sure they're OK, and, thankfully, apart from the cuts and bruises, they were. On the way out, I go to the desk and say: 'How much do I owe you?' And they looked at me and said: 'Nothing!' I was taken aback."

NATURAL LOVE - THE SCOTTI BROTHERS RECORDINGS

After achieving tremendous success as an international music star in the 1960s and 1970s, Petula Clark began a new phase of her American music career when, after a short hiatus from the States, she was approached by Scotti Brothers Records to return to the recording studio.

Label owner Tony Scotti was a fan of Petula's work, and knew that she was capable of singing a variety of styles, including country-flavored tunes.

Scotti's instincts proved dead-on; the slick and twangy toe-tapper Natural Love, Petula's debut release for Scotti Brothers, not only brought her back to the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts but also to the Top 20 Country Singles list in 1981.

Its success set the stage for follow-ups: Petula's plaintive take on the western torch favorite Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain and a pair of pop ballads, Love Won't Always Pass You By and Dreamin' with My Eyes Wide Open

Ironically, at the time Petula wasn't able to capitalize on or properly promote her renewed popularity in the U.S., as she was tied up starring in a record-setting revival of The Sound of Music on stage in London through 1982. However, Scotti Brothers did take advantage by issuing a single for the British market of Petula performing Edelweiss from the beloved musical - a song popularized by Petula's childhood friend Julie Andrews in the movie version. Now, for the first time, all of Petula's Scotti Brothers Records masters are brought together in an album featuring all eight single sides - including a pair of original Clark compositions (Because I Love Him, Darkness) and three additional songs not originally released for a total of 11 tracks, several of which are making their CD debut. It's a missing cache of music from one of the most important and versatile voices in the pop world, with incisive liner notes from The Second Disc's Joe Marchese, period photos and digital remastering by Mike Milchner of SonicVision. Natural Love is released on 03 June 2016. Another all-time great female singer brought to you by Real Gone Music!
